The 3 Bears
Situated on an acre of mature cedars and gardens, The 3 Bears Bed & Breakfast directly borders the banks of the Grand River. With a rare sloping walk-down to one of the most scenic (and best fly fishing) stretches on the river, you can spend the day casting for brown trout, or just relaxing in a hammock and watching for "Art", our resident Blue Heron.
Our three guest rooms can sleep a maximum of nine if you're booking as a group. Two per room, however, is much more common. All rooms present a view of the river and the backyard gardens. There's a firepit for late-evening marshmallows and story-telling, a horseshoe pit, a hammock, and ample outdoor seating areas.
Guest quarters are separate from the residence, (so you'll never feel intruding or intruded upon), with a private entrance through our Guest Kitchen. Here you'll find a fridge, microwave, coffee, tea and other conveniences. The "Chart Room" features a pool table, piano, wood stove, TV with DVD, a laptop computer with high speed internet, darts, board games and a small reading & DVD library. There's also a double door walkout to the guest patio and grounds.
Small touches will make you feel welcome, including fresh-cut flowers, bottled water, glass stemware and a welcome folder with maps and special event brochures in each room. There are blow dryers and bathrobes in each bathroom, and nightly turn-down service with a chocolate on the pillow. Breakfasts, and the personalized menus describing them, are created daily from scratch. And when you get hungry later, we have a good selection of area restaurant menus on hand, and will gladly make your dinner reservations.
World-class fly fishing is accessible directly from our property. The Elora Gorge & Quarry, tubing on the Grand River, hiking / biking trails, shopping and the Wellington County Museum are all within a 5 minute drive. The market and shops of St. Jacobs are 25 minutes away.
All in all, it's a getaway to remember!
