When you book with us, we'll send you a confirmation email with complete directions from virtually all points of approach. If you want a head start, you can read on to the Detailed Directions below. The zero in our address (0568) refers to the green 4-digit "fire number" you see in front of many rural properties.
Something to note: Google and Mapquest (love 'em both), for the most part do an adequate job showing roughly where we are, but not so much in giving you the best directions from Point A (you) to Point B (us). This is because some road names are out of date, townships and municipalities have changed, and the programmer who wrote the code does not actually live here. South River Road, for example, has three different names within the stretch of 5 km. Google sometimes positions us on River Road South. Wrong...
What we're saying is, trust in the directions we send you. We know about most local seasonal detours due to construction, and we'll try to share those with you. If you are directionally challenged (like Melanie -- she thinks North is up) -- or if you have questions, don't hesitate to ask us. We want you to have a smooth and enjoyable journey.
If you navigate by GPS,...
Depending on your GPS, when you program 568 South River Road Elora into your GPS, it may not locate us very accurately. And if it does, and you happen to be coming from Toronto, it will probably try to add 20 minutes to your trip by guiding you along the 401 to Highway 6 North.
However, if you follow the directions from Toronto below, you'll save time and stress, all of it on paved, lightly-travelled country roads. (Your GPS will be mad at you. Just tell her she doesn't know everything.)

When you book, we send you the directions below in an email. (They are somewhat long, but refer only to the section that applies to you!)
Detailed Directions:
Please note that we do not have a B&B sign posted outside the property. Look for a gray fence and the green "fire number" 0568. The house is green with a red roof. There are 3 large carved bears inside the gate.
From Toronto:
Follow 401 West to Guelph Line North. (about 1/2 hour travel time from the airport unless it's rush hour.)
Continue straight on Guelph Line North to Hwy 7 (This will be the 2nd stop light.) Turn left.
(Prior to this, you will come to a stop sign that says Hwy 7/Rockwood to the right. DO NOT turn here.)
Go to 1st stop light. (Wellington Rd. 29) Turn right.
Continue north about 19 kms (12 miles) until the road ends. (Wellington Rd 18). Turn left to Fergus.
Go 3 stop lights (Hwy 6). Turn right. (Your GPS may try to point you straight. Don't listen - there's no road there...)
Go 1 stop light. (Union St.) Turn left. Union becomes South River Road.
From the light, go 1.6 km (1 mile) to number 0568.
From Niagara:
Take QEW across the Burlington Skyway and follow signs for 403 West/Hamilton.
Exit 403 at Hwy 6 North. Then refer to directions From Hamilton, below.
From Hamilton:
Go North on Hwy 6 from the 403.
When you reach the 401, you have a choice. (#1 passes through Guelph, but is more direct. #2 goes around Guelph but is longer.)

Continue straight through. Once you reach the north end of Guelph, (signed as Woodlawn Road), the continuation of Hwy 6 will be straight ahead of you.

Take the ramp for 401 West. Exit at Hwy 6 North until you reach the "T" at Hwy 6/7. (Woodlawn Road).
Turn right. Go about 2 km until you see the sign for the continuation of Hwy 6. Turn left. (Visual landmark is Wal-Mart.)
Whichever way you chose, you're now back on the same road.

Entering Fergus, you will notice the Zehrs store on your right.
Go to the second light past Zehrs. (Union St.) Turn left. Union becomes South River Road.

From London/Windsor via 401:
Exit Hwy 401 at Hespeler Road. Travel North on Hespeler Road / Hwy 24.
Continue to Guelph. Exit at Hwy 6 North.
At the "T" (where Hwy 6/7 meets Woodlawn Road), turn right (stay on 6)
Go about 2 km until you see the sign for the continuation of Hwy 6. Turn left. (Visual landmark is Wal-Mart.)

From Orangeville:
Exiting Orangeville, turn left on Dufferin County Road 3; you'll see a large water tower on your left (unless it's night time). As you approach Fergus, County Road 3 is renamed Wellington Road 18.
On entering Fergus, go 3 stop lights (Hwy 6). Turn right. (Your GPS may try to point you straight. Don't listen - there's no road there...)
Go 1 stop light. (Union St.) Turn left. Union becomes South River Road.
From the light, go 1.6 km (1 mile) to number 0568.
From Arthur and North:
Take Hwy 6 through the centre of Fergus.
(Turn right at the light after crossing the bridge at the Fergus Market.)
At the next light, continue straight through. This is Union Street.
Union becomes South River Road. Go 1.6 km (1 mile) from the light to number 0568.
From Elora:
Driving SOUTH from the main bridge, bear LEFT at the LCBO.
You will immediately come to Water Street. Turn left.
Water becomes South River Road.
Go approx 3.8 km (2.25 miles) to number 0568.
Additional Directions exiting Pearson International Airport:
The roads through the airport are like spaghetti. Look for signs that read 427 South / 401 West.
Once on 427 South, keep to the right. You will quickly see a sign for the ramp to Hwy 401 West. Take this exit. Then refer to directions "From Toronto", above.
