Garrett Klassen and Melanie WardWe came to the B&B business early in 2003, in a decision that involved moving two careers spent in corporate communications and advertising out of Toronto and into a community and a lifestyle that we have been enjoying immensely ever since. Both of us are writers, not that it's probable you would ever have read anything we've written. That's because we don't do books -- the odd editorial maybe -- but mostly executive speeches, video scripts, advertising, marketing materials and yes... websites. I have a Human Resources background. Melanie is a Journalism graduate. In between, we became designers, website programmers, and video producers. I like to call the B&B my "get rich slow scheme." Let's put it this way: we do it because we like it. Melanie and I both come from a retail background (grocery and apparel). All in all, this makes us pretty attuned to a service culture, and the hospitality and tourism industries are simply an extension of that. Besides, I love to cook.Where else do you have this much fun with an apron on? We also have a sense of humour.
